2023 Porsche Cayenne vs. 2023 Audi SQ7

The 2023 Porsche Cayenne is a sport utility vehicle with superb powertrains, an amazing towing capacity and blistering performance. But can it beat the 2023 Audi SQ7, a vehicle renowned for its impressive appearance, V8 performance and posh interior?

Design & Style

The Audi SQ7 has a conservative exterior with 3 row seats in the cabin that hold up to seven people. It is fun to handle thanks to the balanced chassis and suspension and it utilizes the latest technology, eliminating the majority of knobs and buttons. Its latest updates for this year include windows that are dual laminated in the Executive Package, along with twenty two inch wheels and summer based performance tires that can be purchased in black or matte gray.

The Cayenne is spacious, comfortable, and incredibly versatile. It is Porsche’s most advanced SUV and includes features such as fourteen way powered seats, a panoramic sunroof and adapted air suspension. It sits on twenty inch wheels and also provides an Off Road package which allows the vehicle to operate on rugged terrain thanks to the additional underbody protection. The only update this year was the replacement of the Jet Black Metallic paint color with Chromite Black Metallic.

Technology & Safety

The Porsche Cayenne incorporates numerous driver assistance features, like stop and go, blind area monitoring, emergency automated brakes, parking sensors, frontal impact alerts and an infrared camera. Amenities within its cabin include a twelve inch touch display, massage seats, Burmester audio system with twenty one speakers, leather upholstery and wifi.

The Audi SQ7 rivals the Cayenne when it comes to driver assistance, offering all the same features. This includes emergency automated brakes, frontal impact alerts, lane management, adapted cruise control and semi-autonomous operation. Amenities within its cabin include a trio of dashboard displays, reconfigurable gauge screen, and climate control with leather upholstery.

Performance

The Audi SQ7 is powered by a V8, dual turbocharged engine that is four liters and capable of generating 500 horsepower with the ability to accelerate from zero to sixty in about 4 seconds. It has a top speed of 151 mph and towing capacity of 7,700 pounds. The Porsche Cayenne GTS is also powered by a dual turbo V8 engine that can generate 460 horsepower with the ability to accelerate from zero to sixty in 4.5 seconds. It has a towing capacity of 7,700 pounds and a top speed of 165 mph.

The Bottom Line

While both SUVs have the same towing capacity and safety features, the Porsche Cayenne has an edge in top speed while the Audi has the edge in seating capacity. However, the SQ7 has half the cargo volume at only 14 cubic feet versus 27 cubic feet for the Porsche, and this combined with the Audi’s excess screens and lack of knobs and buttons make the Porsche Cayenne the winner.
