2022 Porsche 911 vs. 2022 Lamborghini Huracan

The 2022 Porsche 911 is an engineering marvel with amazing speed, world class handling and the auto industry’s most advanced technology. But can it beat the 2022 Lamborghini Huracan, an Italian masterpiece with a magnificent presentation and earthshattering performance?

Design & Style

The name “Huracan” is Spanish for Hurricane, and accurately represents what Lamborghini is capable of. It can be purchased in the form of a Spyder convertible or coupe with all and rear wheel drive. Its exterior is defined by extremely sharp edges which resemble a blade, and it can seat a maximum of two passengers. This year they introduced a limited edition variant named Tecnica which uses a steering ratio that is fixed with a more powerful engine.

The Porsche 911 is sold as a cabriolet or coupe and looks fabulous in both versions. Its exterior is the complete polar opposite of the Lamborghini, and prioritizes liquid smooth curves with a teardrop appearance over the razor sharp edges of the Huracan. It seats twice as many passengers and its latest features for this year include wireless updates, upgraded navigation, and the addition of Android Auto.

Technology & Safety

Porsche offers a rich assortment of driver assistance gear for the 911, which includes night vision, emergency automatic brakes, adapted cruise control and lane management. Its cabin amenities include a Bose sound system, carbon fiber based trim, wifi, eleven inch touch displays and powered seats that can be adjust eighteen ways.

The Lamborghini Huracan on the other hand has no driver assistance technology, despite costing about the same price as the Porsche 911. Enthusiast’s claim that this was done to assist drivers in maintaining maximum control at high speed, but this makes little sense given that the Porsche 911 performs similarly without compromising its driver assistance. Cabin amenities within the Huracan include Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, voice control and eight inch touch displays.

Performance

The Lamborghini Huracan is powered by a V10, 5.2 liter engine that is naturally aspirated and capable of generating 602 horsepower with the ability to accelerate from zero to sixty in about 2.5 seconds, with top speed of 193 miles per hour. Those that purchase the Porsche 911 Turbo S will get a flat six, dual turbocharged 3.7 liter engine that can generate 640 horsepower with the ability to accelerate from zero to sixty in 2.2 seconds with a top speed of 205 miles per hour.

The Bottom Line

While both cars are impressive, the Porsche 911 outclasses the Lamborghini in every way. While the Huracan only seats two, the 911 seats four, and while the Lamborghini has no driver assistance, the 911 does. Additionally, the Porsche has better top speed and superior fuel economy at 17 mpg versus only 15 mpg for the Lambo, and since both cars cost approximately the same amount, the Porsche 911 wins.
